Section 01

The four shapes

One-month rollingSlightly dearer, cancel anytime — the audition ticket and the flexibility king.
12–24 month fixedCheaper for the promise; exit sums disclosed in the PAC reply if you leave early.
UnlimitedHonest on the handset at home; tethering clauses and foreign ceilings are the bends — read them.
Special mechanicsRollover banks (Sky's reserve), social-app exemptions (VOXI), Clubcard hooks (Tesco), per-unit billing (1pMobile) — priced into the comparison, not worshipped.
Section 02

The three-month sizing test

Size from evidence, not instinct
  1. Open your network app and read actual usage for the last three months.
  2. People typically consume about half of what they guess — buy for the real number plus modest headroom.
  3. Heavy month coming? A one-off add-on usually beats a permanent upgrade.
Section 03

The yearly ten minutes

Out-of-contract prices drift upward quietly. Once a year: check your current monthly, compare three rivals on the same allowance, and either switch (PAC text, five minutes) or use the quote to negotiate. This single habit outperforms every flash sale.
